Regional Exclusivos

The Regional Exclusivos are very popular of late. I would like to try some myself. Which Regional Exclusivos would FoH recommend? And are the Exclusivos available at LCDHs in Havana?

The RE program has been on for 14 years or so now. Plenty to choose from.

Only the RE for Cuba are typically found in Havana LCDH shops though others have popped up time to time.

Top 5 RE releases for me were the PL Magnificos UK, La Escepcion Selectos Finos Italy, Edmundo Dantes 109 Mexico, Bolívar Especiales No.2 Germany, Ramón Allones Celestiales Finos AP.

Plenty of other great ones - RA Phoenicia releases for example.

Lately the ERDM La Reina UK, Punch Sir David AP, LGC Orgullosos, LFDC Casanovas Italy and others have been hitting it for me.

ELs all go through their respective region's distributors so for the most part they're only available locally. 

European vendors and some gray market vendors do usually have quite a few of the mainland European ERs and sometimes Asia Pacific ERs. The rest can be tougher to acquire. Canadian vendors should offer the Canada ERs but prices are always high for those due to Canadian duties. 

Cuba sells only Cuba ERs. None of the ERs destined for elsewhere remain on the island. In fact, I recall showing some of the LCDH employees in Cuba pics of Edmundo Dantes and La Escepcion and they had no idea what they were.

Luckily, Rob offers up the Asia ERs frequently enough and usually they are pretty solid releases. RG 88 is still out there as well as RA Silver Jubilee.

Of the recent ones, I like the LGC Invictos best. They are a Italy RE. I’m excited to try the Orgullosos and Kon Tiki as they are both 109 format, and I’m a sucker for those. But those are getting more rest in the humidor.

The best I have had  this year was the Por Larranaga Coronas from 5ta Avenida
