La Flor de Cano Selectos REVISTED

I did a review of a stick from a March 2016 (GOA) box of the La Flor de Cano Selectos in September 2017. The flavor and nose were outstanding but the cigar suffered from major construction, burn and draw issues.

From Sept 2017 Review:

However, some major issues....

1. Draw started out immensely tight, then fluctuated between loose, medium and tight the rest of the way.

2. Burn was terrible, canoeing and a few too many "space holes" in the ash.

3. About 7 purges and touch-ups.

I'll tell you what, I had another one of these yesterday and it was absolutely outstanding! Full flavored and perfect construction and draw with no touch-ups. Damn fine smoke. I can't seem to find these anywhere now - I see the Petit Coronas but not these. I guess the secret was to lay them down for 3 years.

Haha whenever you're purging 7 times you know things aren't going well!

But just to be clear, is the one you smoked yesterday from the exact same box? If so that's awesome. It makes me optimistic for a few duds in my own humidor.

Haven't heard much about these. I always glance at them as the price is great but I'm always afraid they'll be too light for me as that's their reputation.

Maybe I'll grab a box with that code.

I was just looking at these on CCW and wondering why I've never seen them around. Maybe it's because of their flaws???
