3rd stick in a row now over the past few months.  The draw is really bad and the last one wouldn't even stay lit.  They sit in 64%/66F.  I've tried everything including using tools to open them up a bit to help the draw.

Other CCs are doing fine in the same conditions.  Perhaps just bad luck?

What is the box code? Have you tried dry boxing for 2-3 days or a week?

Will the SKU on the order confirmation tell me anything?  They're all gone.

Yeah, tried drying them.  No help.

To clarify, I dried them for 2 days.  Perhaps longer next time?

May hold off for a while.  They're pricey sticks to keep running in to less than desirable enjoyment.

A lot of CC’s taste good and perform well enough young. CoRo isn’t one of them, IMO. So if it’s a 2018 box you’re talking about, could have just needed more rest.

2018 CORO have been one of the better cigars of the year.

You can still have some dudders however.

When ordering singles, is it safe to assume they're from that year?  Are singles ever coming from older boxes?

Order from a well known UK cigar merchant who is convinced that such a thing as bloom exists and you will get 2014 Cohiba Robustos.

I had one and thought they were lovely, ordered a few boxes from our host and they were nothing like the one from the well known UK merchant so decided to lay them down. Reading about the various Cohiba band styles the other day and it clicked that the single I purchased was a 2014 at the youngest as it had the old style band.

It led me to the conclusion that Cohibas truly do need a good few years to get the best out of them.

And in answer to someone else's question yes some merchants do seem to sell older singles. The cynical in me might suggest that this is so that one thinks how good a cigar is and then orders a box!

Singles generally (all over the world) are current stock.

Foxy/AJ and a few others may put up boxes with a few years on them. Always inquire. You will pay for the premium but it may be worthwhile :ok:

2018 CORO have been great for me. However 2018 Cohiba corona especials have been duds, the draw is extremely tight. Anyone else having bad luck with 2018 CCE’s ?

The boxes that I have seen have been excellent. If there was a criticism it was that some tended toward underfilling? That is boxes. I haven't really looked at CP's so I can't comment.

If the tool fails to pierce the stopper, so the cause of the high humidity and the tobacco stuck together. How do you ensure humidity? Do not forget to also provide the recommended temperature

Try to stretch the cigar by rotating and squeezing it between your fingers, sometimes it helps

Well yeah so would I if they were like the few I had in the first 6 months of 2018.  A $500 cigar isn't going to be so hot if it's like trying to suck a car through a garden hose.

Thanks for the tip.  Squeezing is typically my first approach before I go drilling with the perfect draw.

I’ve had pretty good luck with CoRos and have had very few duds. I typically won’t touch them without a bit of age though (2 years+)
