ERdM Choix Supreme AST NOV 09 Smoke and drink Pairing review.

Firing up one of my last 5 from this box. Old CS are like nectar. Sweet but flavousome. Oreo cream. Pairing this with Erdinger Weissbeer and AnCnoc 12. 

The first third is mind boggling in its deliciousness. Beautiful, tangible sweetness intermingled with a very subtle leather and nut bass note. The honeycomb sweetness and subtle smoke of the AnCnoc is its perfect bedfellow. The Weissbeer fruit and zest notes a good palate cleanser in between puffs. Not overpowering the cigar at all but refreshingly zingy and so, I'm fairly certain, exacerbating the sweetness of the cigar when I return to it. 

Right now, I'd swap every cigar in my collection to these if it meant all future ones were this good as this. 

The second third remains on form with sweetness to the fore and the bass notes turning slightly darker. More toasted bread and campfire, but sweetness is the star. I'm in love. Again. 

The final third reveals the real beauty of aged CS for me. Strength and body building to crescendo but the sweetness never fades. It's so nice I have lost track of my puffing regularity and I've chuffed through it in 35 minutes. Still, not a hint of "green", astringent, sickly ammonia or overheating soured coconut. Just pure, indulgent bliss perfectly partnered by some quality drinks. 99 points.

Great review. I have a box from '09 buried so it's great to know they are smoking so well. So many say the ageing potential for these is awesome well into the teens but reviews like yours makes it tough to leave them be.

very jealous of this cigar, great review.  ERdM was one of my first CC I had in mexico over the summer. They seem to need some age, so I will hunt for a box with some years on it.
