Popular Post HopeUgood Posted November 17, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2018 Im gonna have to shoot from the hip here as I am new to cigars, and attempting a review seems like a long shot. This was my first San Cristobal, any pairing was just a guessing game. I reached for one of my many favorite sodas, Henry Weinhard (what a name) Vanilla Cream Soda. Staying true to noob form, I lopped off too much of the head of the cigar ?. Down to business; I took a quick liking to this cigar. I know "pancakes with syrup" was used to describe another vitola in the San Cristobal line and it hit me as almost spot on. A very pleasant sweetness, coffee cake, and some light woody notes in the background. Heading into the second third a bit of spice began to appear, in the vein of cinnamon or nutmeg. The cigar's sweetness was still present but transitioned into a heavier molasses flavor. These flavors continued into the final third but I was thrown for a loop in that last third. There was a new flavor I hadn't picked up on and was totally unexpected, but very pronounced. Grapefruit came racing into the forefront and floral notes in the background. It was rather short lived, but battled over the top of the other pronounced flavors that had grown in intensity throughout the cigar. The vanilla cream soda I paired it with was maybe not the best choice, as it was ignored for the most part and the cigar was all I focused on. Not sure where this cigar sits for most people, but that first experience was very pleasant and something I wish to repeat many times over. 11

slowsmoke Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 My TOS MAR 17 says hi ? The first one out of the box was plugged beyond repair. This is the second one, perfect draw and burn. Unfortunately the cappuccino wasn’t such a great pair. The cigar just couldn’t cut through the milk ??♂️
