So it finally happened. My favourite B&M and the only one left in town , is gone. A landmark shop where generations have bought their tobacco products , newspapers and lottery tickets . Hell , I even bought a copy of Min Ron Nee’s book there long ago. Turns out having been purchasef by Davidoff was not such a good thing after all. Big Money evidently discovered that no sane person wants to pay 30 Euros for a Dominican Cigar and decided to close all their shops in Holland.

I will never touch a Davidoff cigar ever again that’s for sure

Davidoff purchased the store and then closed it?  Do they still own the store?  What is going into replace it?  Tobacco stores are a losing business for most of the world.  Every year there are tougher laws, higher taxes and less smokers.  I don't see any change to this situation.

I have a hard time believing their lounge in downtown Pittsburgh will last. They just opened it a little while ago but it’s always empty or near empty when I’m there. It’s a huge place that they completely renovated. Like you said, the cigars are way overpriced.  Just a matter of time, in my opinion.

Yeah, they opened one of their "Blend" branded stores in my city. It's always empty save for a couple banker types that work in the area.  One look at the prices and it's clear why no one goes.

Unfortunately locally owned cigar shops are closing left and right. I live in the country and have to drive an hour to the nearest lounge. Still cheap cigarette stores are doing fairly well since they are small by comparison however any places that offers indoor smoking are disappearing.
