Popular Post Fuzz AI Posted September 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 23, 2018 I have smoked quite a number of these and have only been disappointed with one or two since their release. For my weekend away with some friends, I decided to throw one into the travel humi and see how they have been going, as I have not had one for about a year. This one was from a PCC Vintage Collection box, 1617/4000. Paired this with a Zacapa Edicion Negra and a cup of green tea. The cigar is a little firm to the touch, the wrapper nice and smooth, and the bands slip off easily. Nipped the tip and the draw was spot on. Aroma at cold was cedar, a touch of hay (though, I was on a farm....), and a slight almond nuttiness. Fired it up and was hit with a fruity nuttiiness, huge volume of smoke, and a touch of leather round the edges. Moving into the first third, the flavour becomes like a Cherry Ripe, dark cherry with a bit of chocolate. Coming into the 2nd third, I'm surprised at how this has not really mellowed over the years. It is still medium/full-bodied. Getting some of that almond nuttiness flavour from the cold draw, which is a little surprising. I am reminded why I love this cigar. I forget to take any more pics because I am just enjoying this too much. Into the last third, there's still plenty of smoke, the Cherry Ripe, and a bit of pepper through the nose. Draw has firmed up a touch. Pepper is becoming more dominant before I finally lay it down. After 9 years, the RACF still has legs to go for more years down the track. And whilst I have half a box left at home, plus another in my OLH, I'm disappointed that I didn't get more when I had the chance. 11
Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted September 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted September 23, 2018 The last one I had about 9 mos. ago was excellent. Can't argue with these continuing to improve as well as it was far from mellow as was your example. And mine had fantastic construction and burn: 9
Puros Y Vino Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Nice, short but sweet review. After the LESF, this cigar is probably my next favourite. I grabbed several boxes when interest on them was low and I'm glad I did. They continue to impress and are aging rather nicely.
