So this Friday I am taking my wife for her birthday to a nice Steak Dinner in Beverly Hills, a long time ago they used to let me smoke at the Four Seasons, but the last time they said the laws had changed. Then I used to go to the Buena Vista Cigar Club, but I took my wife there once and she just did not like it. I know the Grand Havana Room is 1 block from the restaurant we are going, but I am not a member, so I need to find another good option to keep on celebrating after Dinner.

Any Suggestions from the Forum would be greatly appreciated.

I found the 10 Pound Bar at a Hotel in front of the Restaurant we are going, supposedly it's owned by Macallan, and they have a small outside lounge. Will see if they have any reservations.

If you don't mind going to Brentwood, I can give you a pass for the Lone Wolf to smoke in the lounge. There aren't many places to smoke in Beverly Hills to be honest. City ordinance for smoking is pretty bad. I live in Beverly Hills and you can't stand in an area and smoke. You have to constantly be moving. You can go to the Backroom on Sunset Blvd. It's a restaurant but it has a dedicated smoking area and bar. Unlike @db13's selection, it is not upscale and a bit divey ?

Please let me know if Mr. C's allows you to smoke @Wailbait. I live two blocks away!

I’ve never been so I can’t comment on the quality of the hotel or its offerings, but its website features cigar related merch quite prominently and it states you can smoke in the Porte Cochere.

Thank you all for the recommendations, will check out the websites and call, since some places all or a sudden change their smoking policies from one day to another. The Ten Pound I did see a lot of complaints that the cheapest drink Macallan 12 is $45 Dlls.

Similarly, it's not Beverly Hills as I am not familiar with that area, but depending on which direction you are heading after dinner, Cafe Dahab on sawtelle in West LA has a quiant outdoor patio that is cigar friendly, rather good food and coffee (that is inexpensive to boot) and is open until 3 or 3:30 AM. Certainly not fancy place, but particularly when their hookah bar is closed I have rather enjoyed a cigar there over some hummus and shish. The hookah bar can draw a rather obnoxious crowd when open though, so probably worth calling ahead about that.

Mr. C.

Bazaar.

No cut fee either place. Both very nice.

Ten Pound is supposed to be OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive.

Good to know. Thanks!

I work on Camden and live super close by and am always on the hunt for cigar friendly places and the only ones I know of nearby are already mentioned, but to shed some more light and details on it, here goes:

Backroom on sunset is a cigar smoking sports bar through and through. They don’t have a cutting fee which is great but you’ll have pretty standard drinks and greasy bar food. Seating is fairly tough and depending on where you sit, even with the windows and all, it can get quite smokey.

Lone Wolf which has a shop in Santa Monica and an equivalent shop plus large smoking room just west of the 405 is free to smoke and use the lounge all day which has WiFi and coffee etc but no alcohol, if you spend $50. They have the largest NC selection on the west side that I know of but like all cigar shops, the markup is real vs online. If you don’t hit $50 you can just smoke in the retail area up front. May as well take a walk and smoke outdoors.

I cannot comment on £10 but this thread tells me to stay away unless someone’s hosting. Their “secret” reservation number is ‭(310) 860-5808‬ lol.

Mr. C’s smoking lounge that they tout is nothing more than a nice waiting area for valeted cars. Not really worth it.

Buena Vista Social Club has a small non Cuban selection and is chill enough. It looks like an old hunting lodge inside. Relatively big drink prices for how casual it feels in there. $10 cutting fee and opens at 4 pm daily.

i usually prefer Grand Havana Room but I only go there the most since a lot of guys in banking are members and it’s where I’m most often invited. It’s not hard to turn down the best spot since non members such as myself aren’t allowed to pay!

My pick goes to SLS. The patio of the Bazaar restaurant opens at 5:30 and you can get great bites and an inventive cocktail menu on a large front patio about 7 steps above the valet. I don’t like being in the vicinity of a valet area but at least the cars that come up here rival the ones that pull up at the Montage so it’s fun. My gf and I went last week and had a nice dinner and shared a Lusitania. When I was leaving there was a Carrera GT and a new GT2 RS amongst your garden variety of boring skittles colored lambo huracan and aventador SV leases out front. No cutting fee either!

Enjoy! And I hope locals keep this thread alive because man we need suggestions in this smoke hating town.

Last time I was in LA, I went to the Cigar Warehouse in Sherman Oaks. Quite a nice place. Large walk in with plenty of chairs all around to relax in. Will probably be going there again  when I fly in this weekend.

How long are you in LA for? I like the Cigar Warehouse as well, I am in LA usually Tues-Thur. I am live about a mile from that particular spot.
