agreed.

i have a single 65 boveda pack and it keeps my humidor at approx 62 to 63.

seems to be the sweet spot for smoking.

Biggest thing for me when I first got into Havanas was realizing that some needed a bit of age to be enjoyable and some didn't. Although completely subjective, I found it important to make that distinction in order to temper expectations. If I'm looking for a RyJPC to behave like a mini-RyJ Churchill or a RASS to stop slapping me around, I now know it's not going to happen within 2 years of the box date. However, while I can age a Partagas Short for 5 years or more, I find they start losing some of their magic after 2-3 years. And Trinidad Vigia is typically ready to please after only several months' time.

Enjoy the journey!

Por Larrañaga is a personal favorite - don't let the pricetag fool you! And beware the multi-banded dollar-gobblers! :surprised:

I get a steady 63% by using the 65’s. I believe it even says so on the package, that you should expect a couple of % lower than what it says on the box. And two different hygrometers agree. Haven’t tried the 62’s.

And for me the most noticable difference is in the draw and plugged cigars.

I've calibrated all my hygros. I get exactly the percent on the boveda pack. 65%. it's extremely consistent

I guess temp and container makes a difference. I wouldn’t mind 65 but my 63 works wonders.

I figured you guys were right on the humidity, but being human I just had to try it myself.  A few weeks ago I had a Cohiba robusto that was around mid 60s.  It was divine.

Tried one I had in my humidor that has been basking in 70-72%.  Yep, definitely not as good.  While still an enjoyable cigar, it lost its edge in overall taste and impression.

I'm glad it only took 1 stick to realize the error of my ways.  Time to fire up a new home for the CCs and get them soaking up 65% for a while.
