Popular Post havanaclub Posted August 12, 2018 Popular Post Posted August 12, 2018 First off, this cigar was not unloved, it was just one cigar that I always passed by in the humidor as it was the oldest cigar in my collection and was waiting for a perfect time to smoke it. Well it made sense after reading Rob’s description of the contest and thought it was fitting to smoke this on the eve of my baby girl’s 3rd birthday. This cigar was gifted by a solid BOTL. I paired this cigar with Mount *** XO rum. Aroma at cold was actually quite pungent, barnyard with sweet tobacco and cedar. Draw and construction was perfect. The wrapper was dry and mottled. Thanks to www.cubancigarwebsite.com this cigar measures 46 x 137 (5.4”) and is a Britancias vitola. According to my friend who gifted me this cigar, it was in the cardboard pack and he had removed the cello. First third I picked up tons of spice. I was blown away by the body of this cigar as I assumed with its age that it would be very light and almost airy. This was not the case at all. The smoke production was voluminous and viscous. Notes of sweet cinnamon and leather. . Second third the spice continued with a touch of wood in the background. The finish was just a very clean tobacco taste. Quite pleasant. The final third was definitely still maintaining the upper end of medium in body with wood becoming the dominant note. Maybe cedar from sitting in the humidor for years? Was still getting cinnamon, sweet tobacco and at times a lingering pepper that tingled on the tongue on the finish. A very complex cigar with legs. I am very fortunate to have been able to smoke this cigar as it is older than I, thanks Michel if you ever read this review. Cheers FoH. Would rate the cigar a 94. LGC Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 One of my favorite Romeo’s. Fortunate to have some en cello. 80’s and 70’s blends are drastically different than 90’s specimens 1
JohnS Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Aah yes, the RyJ Celestiales Finos. Yes, as Brandon's said, the 90's specimens were generally not as good as prior ones. Apparently, the RyJ Celestiales Finos was 'turning the corner', so-to-speak, before it was deleted circa 2002. Great review, @havanaclub! 1

JohnInCleveland Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Anyone else laugh that the site bleeped out your rum brand?
mgcrunch Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Happy Birthday to your daughter Brent! Nice review to boot.
