OllyBond Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Ok, so I smoked 5 from this box so far, a few of them in the month of July. Up until this morning only one of them was to my liking. First, let me start off with the ambiance. I wake up at 3 o clock like I do every morning for work, and I get a txt saying no work do to rain coming in early. Needless to say, that was a very exciting txt. I new right then I was going to start my day with coffee and a cigar. Still a newbie to CC, but I finally have a small selection to choose from. I have a good mix of boxes I am enjoying, accept the montecristo edmundos, which have been disappointing. I planned on letting the rest of the edmundos sit for a while in hope they will change for the better. However, I have to watch how many CC I smoke until I build more stock, and really didn't want to smoke one of my good ones. So I reached for an edmundo and a oliva melanio maduro in case the edmundo was another dud. Next, I went to wawa and grabbed a coffee. Then I went on iTunes to put on the album Songbook by Chris Cornell. I clipped my edmundo and tested the draw, it was a little snug. Oddly, this was kind of exciting because I had just recieved the perfecdraw in the mail the other day, and wanted to see how it worked. Well it worked great, I highly recommend getting one if you don't have one. Now I light my cigar, and a few puffs in and I was pleasantly surprised. I new it was going to be good! Not knowing about this competition, I planned on reviewing this to share with the forum. So I took some notes that I will now share with you. To start, the burn and adjusted draw were near perfect. In the first third, I picked up a strong whole milk taste, mild cuban twang, sweet spices, and sponge cake. In the second third, I picked up milk, paper, sweet spice, a dessert made with alcohol, and a stronger twang. It was also much richer than the first third. I made one touch up. In the final third, the strength ramped up and most of the previous flavors described were pretty much gone. It was now just a rich spicey cuban twang. I made one more touch up. In the last inch, then ammonia crept it. The End In conclusion, this was and incredible cigar. I rate it a 9 out of 10. The overall experience of the edmundo paired with the days first cup of coffee and Chris Cornell Songbook. Is an easy 10 out of 10! Be good to yourselves, and have a great weekend! 3
Silverstix Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Great review, glad you enjoyed this one. I find that the setting and my frame of mind are just important to my enjoyment of a cigar. In your case having the day off from work, first cigar of the day with a nice coffee, and great music all equates to a much better experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
rcarlson Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I have a love-hate relationship with Edmundos. When they're right. . . oh Momma. So damn inconsistent though. 1
