Got sunburnt in Phuket the other day and someone recommended me something called Lucas Pawpaw, said Aussies swear by it. Never heard if it. What is and is it any good?

Hands down the best thing for a sunburn is Aloe Vera. Takes the pain away and helps the burn heal. It mostly comes in a gel but you can get mists as well. I've only ever used Aloe Vera for my sunburns.

Never heard of Lucas Pawpaw.

ditto. never heard of it. i utterly detest pawpaw. would rather cook than smell that stuff.

aloe vera or sorbeline cream. old girlfriend has some french cream and it worked brilliantly.

i also remember back when i was about 20 and got badly cooked. a friend of my sister's insisted tomatoes. she sliced up a heap of tomatoes and rubbed them all over me and they worked really well. or perhaps my memory is playing tricks.

Lucas Pawpaw is an Aussie legend. Ken, go ask your mum or sisters

Used predominantly for cracked lips and minor burns.

never heard of it. currently mother-sitting and she has never heard of it. given the number of sun cancers she has had cut off, from decades in the sun, if it were any good, i expect she have cupboards full. and if my sisters were using it, i'd have heard. and as a kid playing cricket back when sun care was less rigorously enforced, hence cracked lips like the grand canyon at times, i'd have been smothered in the stuff. zinc cream.

no one i know has ever heard of it. bar you. googled it. they seem to think they are a legend but i remain unconvinced it is any better than any other treatment and if there is the slightest hint of any aroma similar to paw paw, i could not use it.

I've heard of Lucas' Paw Paw ointment, but never used it personally. I used aloe vera gel for sunburns and moisturiser. Gotta be careful you get the right kind of gel, though. If the first ingredient is water, it is not a good aloe vera gel. And some use alcohol as a cooling effect.
