Smoked blind cigar number 2 last night.

The cigar was light in color and well rolled. I had a few burn issues and at one time the cigar went out completely, but the relight didn't tarnish the flavors. I picked up some wood notes and cream from time to time but the cigar was mainly one flavor of wood and relatively harsh, probably a little young. Overall it's not really my profile but it wasn't a bad cigar by any means.

That sample looks like what I had in color. How was the construction - mine was underfilled??

Very underfilled as well.
I am pretty sure my guess is wrong based on seeing what others noted along the way. Mine wasn't box pressed either and my guess is based on my sample only.

Pretty confident on my guess for this one. Of course, in the past with this competition, the more confident I am, the less chance I have of getting it right. We will see!

Really enjoyed #2 today. Well constructed and didn't have to relight or touch up once. Full strength (young?) with thick smoke. I'd definitely smoke this again. 0 for 2, here I come!

Wood, different type of wood with some chalkiness, cedar, wood, pepper on the retro, hints of baking spice mixed in here and there with an occasional light fruity sweetness. Nothing stood out except for the wood and none of the other flavors really grabbed my attention.

And the wrapper was a very dull, dry looking light colorado.

Perfectly filled cigar with a significant box press, no draw problems at all.  In fact, perfect draw.  But alas, some serious burn issues.  I have put all 5 of these cigars in a traveldor since getting them with a 65% boveda pack so I'm kinda bummed about the burn problem.  I haven't had a cigar tunnel on me in years...until tonight.  Having to mess around with lighting it to rescue it probably affected the flavor profile quite a bit and I had to quit on it before I normally stop smoking.

Initial notes of wood and leather.  Definitely a tea flavor, almost a pu erh-like dankness on retrohale that made me THINK I know what this guy is...but that's when I started having burn issues.  I'm really at a loss, but going with my first guess  and intuition.

Took a try at No. 2 today.  There were elements I thought I recognized and there were elements I found missing.

I've made my guess.

I feel just as unsure on this as I was on the last one! I don’t believe I’ve had this cigar.

And now the 7 day wait for the results. I'm 95% sure I got this one wrong.

I've never smoked one of these before but I never smoked #1 before either and go it right. Hopefully I'll be lucky twice.

I had an educated guess as to what it was and the flavors coincided with the description of the said stick from the prez.  Perhaps I biased myself and believed I was tasting the flavors in the description when in reality they were not.  Time will tell.

So I couldn’t do a formal review cause I smoked #2 on the road.  All I can say is I really enjoyed and it paired great with my coffee watching the sunrise from the windshield.  It had notes from two marcas in my opinion which made it hard to come with a final answer.  I ended up going with the one I tasted the most.  More than likely, it’s neither of the two I thought it was.  This is why it’s fun!!!!

I smoked this one last night and regardless of whether I guess it right or not, I'm already a winner as this was a cracking cigar.

The initial opening was underwhelming, but within 10 minutes this had developed into wood profile with tea shining through occasionally.  As we approached the middle third, it turned into cream, showing hints of that wood profile from the first third in the background.  Going into the final third, the cream and wood remained, but now there was a sugary sweetness that came into play as well.  The draw was perfect and the cigar only needed a little touch-up towards the end.  I smoked this until my fingers were burning.

Overall this was probably one of the best cigars I've smoked this year.

Got nothing positive to add.
My sample was kind of a dud - over first half was vastly Underfilled; enough in my opinion to where having a decent chance of identification is very slim.
I typically would have tossed the stick and gone in search of something pleasent - However, I pushed on to the end hoping for some positive nuances and clues to the identity of this sample.
Nothing.......
Getting caught (by Sister Mary) as I was chewing my #2 yellow pencil and thus receiving a couple smart raps with her ruler comes to mind on reflection of suffering through this sample.
All I got for my review emoji58.png

My sentiments exactly... Definatly think we got 2 duds. I did not have the willpower to see it through. Got to the 1/2 way point and gave up. Bumbed .

You didn't miss anything... It actually had me coughing at one point further on - that Rarely happens to me. My #3 sample smoked nicely
Best of luck to you!

It was a lovely weekend here in Los Angeles, double that with Cinco de Drinko on Saturday. Got an early start so I could do the taste test before the tequila started flowing.

Sadly, my Cigar was a full dud, lacked flavor, underfilled, and poor construction. I did light up a couple of the options I thought it could be to try and find something. Of course the cigars I tried were full of flavor and made me despite my Cigar 2 even more so.  Despite that it was a great day with great food, great drinks, great cigars (after the blind Cigar), and most important great friends.

My guess is in.... and it was left to a coin toss for me.
