Corylax18 Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 Yes! OffMaps 2 and A La Mesa (at the table) are both very useful in Havana. And to a slightly lesser degree in the rest of the country.

For the love of all things sacred, update them *before* you hit Cuba. You dont want to try to download either one of their offline databases once you arrive. 1 1
Ender1553 Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 I'd also recommend Google Translate for those not fluent in Spanish, or even for use as a pocket dictionary for those that might be rusty Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk 1

oliverdst Posted August 15, 2018 Author Posted August 15, 2018 Cadeca currency. I don't know how accurate it is but today rates are ok. Cuba Cadeca. Official exchange rate of foreign currencies. Get it free now here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.xpros.cubacadeca
Fuzz Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 This makes me wonder if it would be better to just exchange Australian currency at the cadeca, instead of converting to Euros then to CUC.

I mean obviously I'm a noob, but if my home currency was anything other than the US Dollar I would just bring that and convert it. The only exchange rate that is skewed is the dollar because of the embargo penalty isn't it? Losing 3% or so exchanging at a bank before even setting foot in Cuba seems like a hassle and a waste of money if you don't have to.
oliverdst Posted August 15, 2018 Author Posted August 15, 2018 Tha A La Mesa app crashes whenever I try to locate a place (Android). Happens with you too?
nickg999 Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Maps.me was a life saver in Havana. Went airplane mode on the iPhone and the gps still worked like a charm.
