Fred Dibnah was a legend of the North. One of the last Steaplejacks, and men of the industrial age. Basically tough as old leather, but also an oracle of anything steam powered, or covered in grease. For all those who are lost and sad in the age of "virtue signalling" and such nonsense, lets take a moment and remember a much simpler better time. Here's to Fred!

Another bit of colour to Freds background. This is the "real" Dirty Old Town. It has nothing to do with Dublin/Ireland (pisses me off endlessly).  'Dirty Old Town" was written by Ewan MacColl about Salford, and Mills of Manchester.

He was a staple on the TV when I was growing up, amazing character, there's shades of him in guy Martin
I was confused for a second then I realised you mean the motorbike bloke, not the lead singer of Coldplay. Oops
