WillGSX Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 All good Ken. I didn't want a good night's sleep this week anyways. Cheers friend.
kuma Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Could use some of them in the great state of Conn. with the attempt to keep the tick (lyme disease carrier) at bay. Lyme disease started say about 20 or 30 years ago in Lyme Ct and has spread to most of the US These little monsters carry 6 or 7 other diseases along with the lyme. If you can "keep them out of OZ" but I'm not sure how that would work. The host here in Conn. and I suspect in the rest of the states is the "white footed mousey and deer. Anyway your spidey looks cool and maybe you in OZ have a insect that can destory our tick. Read up on this bug if you should come to the states and do some hiking in woods or anywhere there is tall grass, brush or thick underbrush. Shower within 24 hours and have Mrs. mate or Miss. mate check your body for anything that has buried itself under or hanging from your skin. PS. Did not mean to hijack the conversation but thought this kind of serious.

Could you do a favor...? It's awfully difficult to judge its size in the picture. Maybe go lay and Punch SS1 next to her for some reference...? I'm thinking you must still have some on hand.... that is actually the back of the box. so a cigar is going to drop away.

We’d never see our postal worker again....which wouldn’t be a problem since I’d be getting a P.O. box anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk my postie usually knocks on the door with the mail and has a yack. it would not bother him at all. he is a beekeeper and regularly removes pythons from his own place.

puromaniac Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 What a beautiful spider. Fabulous markings. We do need to do more appreciating nature and less dreaming of ways to dispatch it. Arachnids are amazing creatures. We have lycosids and geolycosids here in the Pacific NW. Their eyes glow in the dark when you shine a flashlight. Some say creepy, others just another smoking buddy that accepts you for whatever you choose to smoke. 2
Guest Nekhyludov Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I've always thought that Australia was a fascinating place with rich culture and abundant natural beauty. Always dreamed of visiting someday. But then I see things like this and think, "nah, I'm good."

The bite however, can be painful, due to the size. Huntsman are timid and will run away instead of biting. They are lightning fast. And don't forget they can jump really good too
Ken Gargett Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 did anyone else see the spider they found in the floods in north queensland. seemed to be the size of a small truck. https://www.9news.com.au/national/2018/03/11/12/43/queensland-floods-giant-spider-clings-to-tree-branch
