Politicians going after our cigars again!!

Looks like they are going after cigarettes. I see no mention of the word cigar.

Under the Ballot Summary. =Tax on other types of tobacco products such as cigars, roll-your-own, and chewing tobacco would change from the current rate (35% of the wholesale price) and be increased to 55% of the wholesale price.

 

I don't know where they found a median of cigarrette prices of $1.35 a pack. I have not seen that price since the mid 90's

Sheesh I wish I had 55% tax. 75% here in NY where they love to tax the crap out of people.

NYers should buy their cigars online exclusively. 75% excise tax is comical at best.

Yup. Only time I buy any locally is if there's a new cigar I want to try I'll stop in and pick up a single. 

 

I should say I'm just glad I don't have to pay the taxes on tobacco like they do in the UK, Canada, New Zealand or Australia. That's just highway robbery.
