Bolivar Emperadores RE Rusia 2011 Thanksgiving Review

With the growing closeness  between the US and former USSR thought only fitting to give thanks for a hopeful future with this Russian RE on the most American of holidays - well, toss-up for 4th of July....

Anyway a perfect wrapper, ruddy brown. Awesome aroma at cold. Built like a concrete bunker with just enough ventilation to keep you from suffocating.

Begins with strength and presence. Stable out front (think leather, old wood, manure, horse sweat). Perfect burn and draw, a glorious post-prandial smoke.

A bit raw at first it begins to mellow after the first inch or so. I recall these being a powerhouse all the way through 4-5 years ago.

True Bolivar spirit with this one. As close to the old days as they've come in recent years.

Down to just a couple, I'll be waiting until the next detente before smoking another.....

Haven't had one in a while, but I remember them being very good. Have 2 boxes of them buried under a bunch of other stuff.  Will have to light one up soon.

love this cigar, I have seen different wrapper colors and all  were perfect. hopefully next ER Rusia ( RA Hermitage) release will be as delicious as this one.

КУРЕНИЕ УБИВАЕТ means SMOKING KILLS (I think).  What the hell does that have to do with smoking?  Nanny state in Russia, as elsewhere (including Cuba), wants to protect you from yourself!!

Have 2 of these left in the humidor sitting.  I just never seem to remember to light this one.  Thanks for reminding me about how great this Boli can be.
