Fugu Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 No particular preference, but due to time dictates more often in the afternoon-evening-night stretch. Different cigars for different moments.... I do actually very much enjoy smoking in the morning. When the senses are fresh and clear. Allowing me to appreciate and savour all the fine nuances a lighter bodied smoke has to offer. Among the best smokes have been many early-day smokes for me, and that I attribute to a part more to my own "performance" than to the performance of the cigar.
Luca Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 I like smoking early in the morning. I feel like my senses are heightened in the morning as well. I also like smoking when it is cold.I also enjoy smoking after dinner when everything is done for the day.Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk 1
Stogieninja Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Man, it all depends. Generally it’s in the evening when the kids are in bed. But during the summer it’s in the evening while everyone is playing and I’m sitting on the patio in a lounge chair. Also, I love when I’m coming back from a meeting and can smoke in the car in the middle of the day. And one of my absolute favorites is a morning smoke with black coffee while the wife is still sleeping when we’re on vacation.
joeruby Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Mainly on weekends just after lunch with a drink coffee or rum or beer depending on weather and mood. Weekdays only if i've got the day off, and in the mood. I still like to think of cigar smoking as an event to look forward to and savor alone, or with a mate or two. That's the way I relax best, It's never something I try to squeeze in, fit in, or rush for the sake of it. 2
KnightsAnole Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Every morning with a cup of coffee. The cigars change but the time remains the same. Then occasionally at night if I have someone to smoke with.
Romka Posted November 2, 2017 Author Posted November 2, 2017 If we reach a meaningful number of replies then I will make a graph of smoking preference versus time of day. I plan to evaluate smoking preference as follows; -rarely--1 points -occasionally--2 points -always--4 points Then I will multiply these weights by the number of lads and find the smoking preference value. Pigfish, any suggestions?
torsion Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 99% of my smoke time is in the evening after dinner usually after 9pm and my son is asleep. Not much else to think or worry about after the day is done so I prefer the evenings.
fastkiller13 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 I like to enjoy evening cigars in the colder months, I have a fire pit and there's nothing like having a cigar by the fire; for me anyways. In the summer months I think it might depend on what the mosquitos are up to. If I had a place to smoke indoors I'd say anytime I had time would be a perfect time.

After my pregnant wife goes to bed, I head to the back deck for some relaxation time. I hate to have any distractions whatsoever when I’m enjoying a cigar (work emails on phone, etc.) and I want her to have priority time with me also. After she hits the sack, I smoke.
earthson Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Evenings during the week. Mornings and afternoons on the weekend. Goddamn you, Capitalism.
Corneighdo Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 M-F 9-5, when smoking is a great alternative to the other option. 1
Bsneed51 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 In the mornings my wife and kids head off to school about 90 minutes before I have to log in for work. Nothing beats that quiet time to have a cigar and coffee on the deck while I read. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
GrouchoMarx Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Unwinding after work with a stick and a drink.
jpnyc Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Most of my smoking is done after 9pm, on my balcony, watching Netflix on the ipad. I find that it's the best way to unwind after a long stressful day. I'll be moving in a few months and my smoking habits will have to change in my new place.

I love a cigar with coffee in the morning...a good cigar after a good meal certainly completes the experience...a quality Churchill, in the evening, while reading a book, is definitely a favorite...tough call. But, today at least, my afternoon cigar, often with a cup of chai is one when I reach for my best/favorites. Final answer Well, you certainly know the famous quote by Lily Bollinger reg. Champagne. With cigars one may feel similar about it.... "I drink Champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it -- unless I'm thirsty.” 1
Raskol Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Normally one per day for week days which will be after dinner with a cup of coffee preferably. As for weekends will be 2 - 3 per day morning/afternoon/night. Mainly when there is quiet time for myself. Will never want to rush when I am having a smoke. 1
Rocketman64 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 first choice is morning with hot strong french pressed coffee w/cream -- I can't drink coffee after noon and I love the flavor combination. Second choice is after dinner during the long days of summer accomplished by a Makers Mark or a high quality rum on the rocks. I have yet to try the fire pit idea and will have to give it a go.
anacostiakat Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 As Brother Ray sang it "The night time is the right time...". I enjoy a cigar and an adult beverage at happy hour and into the evening. Not a daytime smoker or drinker for that matter. Suum cuique.
LLC Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Anytime I can make time to really enjoy the cigar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sam Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Saturday afternoons, on the boat (even in November) or watching golf. --- sam
