Received a quick note from Jose this morning. I know that many of you have asked how he is. Thankfully he is well and getting by 

 

 

Hey Rob

Just got power after 8 days and had the chance to send you an email real quick to tell you that I´m safe, no damages and please let Gino and all the friends that I survived.

Nevertheless, this has been regarded as the most dangerous hurricane season in the past 80 years  and it is expected another nuclear hurricane soon. That is the case of Hurricane Maria which is en route to Puerto Rico in a matter of hours following same path Irma took earlier. Let´s see.

So far, no damages. Havana is semi destroyed as you might see in the pictures everybody is uploading in the course of the past week. Tobacco barns suffered very little as far as I know as çwell as all the tobacco facilities. No serious damages.

Looks like Alex is well and For those of you who know Osvaldo, the night guy at our Casa in Santo Saurez, I heard from him ,he's good.

Great news to hear Jose is okay. Lets hope Hurricane Maria fizzles out soon. The whole region has suffered enough as is.

God speed to the whole Caribbean. People who already have so little, and live content... Battered like this by nature. Hardly seems fair. My aunts in Pinar are ok. Let's just hope Maria doesn't cost too much devastation.
