Popular Post Webbo Posted August 24, 2017 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2017 Not my top film ever (that's The Deerhunter) but bloody hell its good. Bill Murray (his best performance?), cigars, Japan, the loneliness of travel, Scarlet Johansson and songs from Elvis Costello and Jesus & Marychain. For those of you who have not seen it please do, the ending alone makes it worthwhile. 5
Corylax18 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Some people really seem to hate this movie. I don't. I like Bill Murray, and love Scarlett. Its no surprise they worked so well together, despite the huge age gap. I've got a box of Cohiba 1966s for anyone that can tell me what he whispers in here ear as the movie ends. 1

jerrybrowne Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Great movie. Not convinced with the digital enhancement.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JohnS Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 The appeal of this film comes from the fact that Japanese language and culture is difficult for foreigners to connect with. But what if this is the case with those who are intimately related to us? Hence, the beauty of this film.

SirVantes Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 One of my favourite films. It holds out the hope that even when one is completely adrift, in an unknowable land, in a life that has become its own parody, a beautiful connection can still be made. As for that whisper, I prefer not to know. 1
