canadianbeaver Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 What's the big deal? We talk about the issue of quality decline sometimes here. The cigars are particularly under filled sometimes. This is why we buy them here. Meh. CB
Hocky27 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I think just politely tell them that not all cigars are created equal and it would be best to take this complaint up wirth the local store. May even use it as an opportunity to highlight the fact that with the online stores affiliated with FOH there are quality control measures in place to avoid such things happening to customers. earthson Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 If the store is worth a damn, they might replace it. What gets me is for knowing pretty much nothing about cigars, he has excellent taste. Too bad the cigar didn't.

If he is a member of this forum, he should have read previous posts about buying from the local shop, it is a gamble. He even admit he was rushing and did not check the cigar properly. Most probably it was fake anyway and not stored properly. Either way he should just chalk this to a learning experience and move on. This is ridiculous. He is e-mailing Rob, because Rob has contacts in the cigar world and the e-mailer is seeking help. Why would it be a gamble to buy from a shop? It's more of a gamble to buy from here, even with Rob checking every cigar in a box (which he doesn't). In a shop, one can check the cigars oneself and not have to rely on somebody else. "Most probably it was fake"...What a ludicrous comment based on nothing. He "should" not just chalk it up to a learning experience. As mentioned, any decent shop worth its salt will accept a return.

BrightonCorgi Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Any store worth a revisit should take the cigar back and replace it. Period... 1
