Does anyone know the history/details about the attached Hoyo de Monterrey Selection humidor (Pre Embargo)?

I cannot find any information regarding this humidor from Min Ron Nee's book or cubancigarwebsite.com.

Moreover, is there any other good websites/books (beside the famous cubancigarwebsite.com) for finding detailed information about Pre Embargo and vintage cigars?

Thanks! :)

You wouldn't find any info in either place because they are post revolution data sets and this is a pre-revolution humidor.

Also, I would delete the source, as it is a direct link to another retailer.

Caveat emptor on any auction site and that one in particular.

Your best bet to find Information would be to contact gothamcigarmuseum.com - they specialize in pre-embargo.

Are you intending to buy this to smoke or collect? I ask because if you are thinking of smoking these cigars they're probably going to taste like donkey poop. If you're buying to collect, it seems you have no idea what this is or if it has any value, significance or importance so I'm a bit unsure as to what the attraction to this item is for you.

Only a fully-fledged pre-Rev expert could tell you exactly what that is and anything about it and there are maybe only a few dozen of those individuals in the world. Pre-Rev expertise is hard to come by and is a very specialized branch of knowledge that is often incomplete due to the tremendous amount of brands and cigars that existed pre-Rev.

Thank you for the replies and information! I saw this humidor from an auction site and was planning to get it if the price was reasonable.

I am intending to buy it for collect purpose as this humidor looks very special to me (the way how to open it).

I have no idea about the history and significance or importance of this humidor and that's why i try to ask people if they have any information regarding this item.

I guess i better to ask some industry's experts and hopefully i am able to get the answer.

Thanks again for all the contribution! :)
