Who doesn't like Half Corona and Petit corona's?

Ken doesn't. :mob:

OK...he will pretend to love a PLPC but constantly complains that it would be better if it were bigger. That is akin to loving your Porsche 911 but wanting it to be roomier ;)

This week will run a Half Corona and Petit Corona review week. it doesn't have to be special, just find a little time, pick the cigar, select an accompanying tipple, review and take a photo or two.

Start a new thread for each review as follows....you get the drift:

H. Upmann Half Corona  ABC ENE 16 :   Ode to the 40 and 42 gauge review week.

  • three prizes (samplers) drawn Monday the 22nd of May.
  • One ticket per review. Please include a photo.

All reviews will be moved to the FOH review section upon completion.

Woohoo! :2thumbs:  I think you're 'preaching to the choir' El Pres, what a stupendous idea for a review competition. Who doesn't love a minuto (42 rg x 110 mm), a perla (40 rg x 102 mm) or a petit corona (42 rg x 129 mm)?

Those H.Upmann Half Corona and Montecristo Media Corona are both 44 rg x 90 mm. Ok, they're 1/32nd of an inch larger in diameter, but yes, I'd still classify them within this review competition as smaller cigars. Are they still too small for Ken?

Stupendous idea, indeed! And perfect timing, since I just finished smoking through a sampler of PCs. I'll have to dig up my notes and pics ...

Will visible oils or the quality of the wrapper be judged? If so, I might as well not smoke and put my cigars in the trash...! -LOL

Thanks for the contest mate! -R

Smoked a 2012 Montecristo 5 last night, it was superb.

Great idea. We've got dry fields and rain coming this weekend so I've been working 16-18 hr days. Hoping to submit a few reviews this weekend after the rain!

Yup I'm with Ken on this one. A Corona is about as small as I can tolerate. Part of my enjoyment of a cigar is the weight in hand so too small def takes something away.

I happen to love petit coronas. They feel comfortable in the hand and mouth, pack a considerable flavour intensity and last about an hour which is the ideal time frame to keep me interested and not bored.
