This sounds a whole lot like America. San Fran being the closest match but it's happening everywhere--Seattle, East Coast and coming soon to Denver.
No wage raises in 15 years, rising individual costs, a MASSIVE redistribution of wealth (NOT in the direction that gets all the news) cats and dogs living together...mass hysteria.
