Just wondered if anyone managed to try the choix du roi or the Ramon Allones XXL as I'm planning a Benelux tour and wonder if either is worth getting (flavour wise, not price obviously)

Tried both, own both....box worthy if bought at LCDH cost IMHO

Close but no cigar NSX :)

1. BENELUX stands for Belgium Netherland and Luxembourg. These three countries are serviced by one importer.

2. Regarding the selection of the regional edicion, the importer can technically choose one for each country/territory they service, if they so desire, not one per importer (think of the issues that would cause for importers like Phoenicia),

3. So sometimes the importer chooses 1 regional edicion and sometimes 2 regional edicions.

4. Regarding the indication on the band there is room for the importer to play with. We see BELUX (for Belgium and Luxembourg) or BENELUX (for all three countries) or Paises Bajos (for the Netherlands). Luxembourg hasn't been selected yet and to be honest I believe it is part of the Belgium territory as far as the distribution of cigars goes.

Thanks for elaborating--it's still interesting that NE has always been the outlier anyway having it's own ER and it happens to be the one left out of the Belux. I understand the distributor does things for its own reasons and can do what it wants with individual countries. It does appear there and you may be correct that Lux and Be are considered together in distribution, but you're saying that you don't think there will be a Lux or Be standalone ER at any point?

It's interesting I hear senior members seem to prefer small ring gages  and the new smokers prefer larger ring gages. Just an observation.  I am sure exceptions exist.

They do exist. Been smoking for 25 years and always preferred the larger ring gauges. My old man was the same.

Not a question of novice and seasoned smokers, it's between connoisseurs and posers, haha... :devil2: :fuel:

You are most welcome of course.

The reasons behind the occasional split are reasons for the importer of course. Generally speaking it is not uncommon to have a Benelux distributor/importer of a certain good, whereby the Netherlands is marketed one way and Belgium another way with Luxembourg added to the Belgium territory.

Regarding your question - we're talking Cuban cigars:) so nothing is certain. I also wouldn't want to assume things here, but so far there have been no signals.
