Daveyboy777 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Should I or not?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
hiperkemanci Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Since they work same as the cello you can keep them on unless you want to aged your cigar.
SaintMickey® Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I put mine in desk top but take off the tops and leave them in the box until I'm ready to travel.
Daveyboy777 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Reason tops off? Tops on no good?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
strikethebox7 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Lots of differing schools of thought on this one, I like to take them out so the cigars can breath especially when aging. Then hold on to the tubes for travel purposes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

mcease022 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I keep the tops on and age in the tube as is. My boxes have aged wonderfully this way. I have a box of monte that are 8 years and are superb right now. 2
Daveyboy777 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 I bought a box of monte cristo Tubos last year in Cayo santa Maria , box was stamped 2011, when I got home I opened box and took the cigars out of the tube and almost all of them were covered in plume, I wiped them off and put them naked in my desk top.i have 12 left and just put acouple back in tubes with caps and put in my glass top humi todaySent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Daveyboy777 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 They are about six years old I believe because the stamp was 2011 and they seem fine after a year in my humidor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AussieCanuck Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 IMO....out. Only because you can then actually see them. Had some mould issues in the past that prob wouldn't have happened if i had taken them out of the tubesSent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk 3
Daveyboy777 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 These were sealed in tubes stamped 2011. I purchased them in 2016. Cigars all goodSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
stinkhead Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I leave them in. Especially for cigars that only come in that format I like to thing that is how they were intended to be aged. 1

(Pay No Mind) He said "plume" and that he wiped it off. Everyone here knows that it was mold; plume can't be wiped off easily (sometimes it's not even possible), and mold inside a tubo is a widespread occurence. 6
Daveyboy777 Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 Cigars are fine not moldy at all thoughSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I believe it wasn't mold at all A bit of mold has never been detrimental to any cigar; it has been repeated hundreds of times here. And no, it doesn't "attack the leaf" and it won't leave a stain unless it stays for months… Please don't copy/paste things posted on other forums; there are dozens of mold/plume threads on FoH, and even an experiment in progress… 6
BrightonCorgi Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 A little mold on a cigar is no big deal. I just wipe it off and smoke. If the mold is around the foot the cigar then it is an issue and I may toss them in the trash... It's weird how one box can have a few moldy cigars and the box next to it is perfect... 2
