PigFish Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 What a bummer! ELP has always been a bellwether of progressive rock. ELP bridged my love of classical and rock music... An acquired taste, probably, unique and expert musicianship, certainly; what a shame. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-38251936 -Piggy 2
Smallclub Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Wow, bad news… I am a fan of his work with King Crimson (first albums); very creative bass player and fantastic singer… “confusion will be my epitaph”
jazzboypro Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 ELP was the first live concert i attended to, it was in 1977 at the Montreal Olympic Stadium i was 12 yo at the time. I spent most of my adolescence listening their music. This is indeed sad news. RIP Greg Lake 1

TheLiquidGator Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 One of my favorite musicians, I am still a diehard King Crimson fan, RIP Mr. Lake. 1
jazzboypro Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Listening to this...brings tears to my eyes... 2
PigFish Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 Here is one my prog friends may not know about: 1
jazzboypro Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I remember seeing a show with Greg Lake and Keith Emerson some years ago at Place Des Art in Montreal. It was also a great show. I remember Lake speaking to members of the audience and taking song requests they both seemed nice people.
Smallclub Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Let's all smoke one of our best cigar tonight/this afternoon in memory of a great authentic musician… I think I'll have a 2007 SCDLH Muralla or one of my last 08 Siglo III A/T… 3
