685efdc1d35bed37a91b03c1fcaffeef.jpgSitting by the campfire with the Scouts off to their tents after a long day of activity. Very peaceful at last and a good evening for a nice cigar.

It's been in the Xikar travel humi for a couple of days and smells fresh and clean. Lights perfectly from a stick from the fire and the first impression is a clean cool creamy smoke. There's not a lot of development through the first third, just a steady woody, lightly mocha flavour.

It picks up into the second stage, increasing in strength and the heavy smoke lingers pleasantly in the air. The milk chocolate is there, along with a slight bitterness, which I like in a cigar in the woods. Hints of coffee.

Burn is perfect throughout. The bands come off easily, probably aided by the heat of the fire, allowing me to get settled into the final third. Spiciness building up, white pepper and even cayenne (?) coming through now. Still has a distinct smoothness, creamy and pleasant.

A fantastic cigar all round. Definitely one to save for the right, if not special, occasion. Sitting by the campfire on a calm night is just that.

Makes me want to wake mine up, but I can't do it until their birthday at least!

Nice review scout master!

Just purchased 2 (10) boxes....it will take some discipline not to dive in right away. Your review is not helping...:)

I'd say why wait? They're good now, just don't do them all! That's the tricky part...I'm 2 into my only box but a couple a year should be fine.

Can't wait to get mine from El Presidente....grabbed a box off that 15% sale!

Then to bed they go.

Akela describes my experience to a T. This guy starts off surprisingly non-threatening but hits second gear and that drive to the finish line was remarkable on the two that I have had so far. Chocolate, coffee, and dried fruits, touched with some capsicum on the wrapper, which I love.
