This term has been tossed around a lot here lately. Greatest OAll Time.  What is your GOAT(s).  One cigar, one story, can only be one GOAT (or not).

My GOAT is a 2004 Partagas D4.  I had it in 2009 and it's my favorite ever.  Have been chasing that incredibly smooth bready, baking spice, toasted tobacco with just a touch of sweet perfection for a few years.  I don't know what it was about this one particular cigar from the one box, but it's the GOAT.  If it would've lasted longer and could be duplicated over and over it would be 100 points.  It was a 99.  Still have room for a little improvement, and I have a lot of cigars still to smoke!

Name your GOATs please!

I cannot say that I really have one my friend. I regularly smoke cigars that I think are just phenomenal. As my memory of past phenomenal cigars fades, I tend to remember the more recent.

Great cigars have included many. Notables include the Partagas Seleccion Pivada a favorite, Partagas PCs, RA PCs, RG CEs, RG Lonsdales, Upmann Lonsdales, Grandes de Espana, Partagas SdC and even the du Depute. That is a partial list, short many cigars, especially many coronas.

That damn Exquisitos that I smoked a few days ago (and did not review) was really fantastic. It too would fall into the category.

Cheers! -R

Hmm...one cigar; one story, eh    Well, first this is going to be sacrilege, however back in about 1998 I'd bought 2 boxes of "Habanas" from my source, and when I got home and opened my "Cohibas"...you know that feeling of a stone falling and falling until it lands on your heart - when I saw they were clear fakes. This was supposed to be Esplendidos...and they were greenish, wrappers were like sandpaper, all uneven sizes...just listen to the temple gong sound and picture me dropping to my knees. So, I took the box back that was supposed Montecristos (they weren't), but something made me keep the Fakesplendidos.

After a VERY long time I finally smoked one of these unattractive looking 'Splendidos. Well let me tell ya - and again I know this is Sacrilege - that damn thing was the most unimaginably incredible smoke I remember since only two others in my life; one was Peter Stokkebye's Santa Maria lancero size in 1987/the other was my first AUTHENTIC Montecristo No.2 in 2007. I'd been a cigar lover since 1986, way before the "boom" of the early 1990's, so I'd had some experience with quality (and less than quality) smokes. And that dastardly looking obvious Fauxhiba must indeed have been the product of a cousin's-sister's-nephew- employed at- the- cigar- factory- in-Havana successfully sneaking out some tobacco to manufacture a few for sale under the table...and there you are. One of my only 3 GOAT's of all time.

All right all right...I knew it would come to this.  I was tempted to title this "best cigar ever" but figured I wouldn't be able to hold an audience as captive as Ken!  This has been posted before for surejust not recently, but I love hearing the stories like @cigcarsjust told!  Rules modified to GOATS.

Oh no...I really hope you didn't get too sidetracked to post in the best bar ever thread.  Would be a terrible tragedy!

Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva for me.  I purchased a couple of singles and waited for a special occasion.  I decided to smoke it at home on my wedding day before I got married in the afternoon and also the wife moving in the following week.  By far the most memorable, complex, and glorious tasting cigar.  So good I ended up finding and purchasing a whole box... Eek..

I don't have a picture, but Thanksgiving of 2014 I was in South Carolina to visit my folks and went to a bar that still allows smoking. I lit my first Opus X Lost City. It was euphoric. I swore if I was ever single again, that I'd buy them by the case lot and never get a woman again. I've had plenty since then, and love every one of them, but none have been as good as that one.
