Spur of the moment review: Vegueros Mañanitas SUE JUN 15

These arrived yesterday from The Team and I've been really looking forward to trying these so here's one ROTT.

It's a great looking small cigar, light wrapper, firm, Beautiful modern band which I didn't think I'd like but I really do. There's not much to smell, presumably due to the cardboard boxing not holding the aroma as wood does. Cut the figuardo head with my Swiss Army Knife scissors as my cutter's in car...sweet on dry pull.

1) On lighting it's got a peppery first draw, but quite mild & probably overpowered by the strong coffee I'm drinking. Distinct peanut flavour at the off and a wonky burn which quickly evens out. The pepper's now gone, replaced with cream/dairy woodyness. Hint of cinnamon? More cream. Ash fell unexpectedly at one inch.

2) Getting stronger to medium, lots of sweet smoke. Woody again with spice coming back mingling with the cream undertones. Very fresh taste, almost minty,

3) Getting hot but not giving up on this one. Tons of sweet, spiceyness, reminded of Indian food bizarrely enough (note to self - haven't had a good curry in too long).

It's been a perfect Saturday morning cigar - 35 mins start to finish. I think I'll take the rest of the 4 pack to this afternoon's wedding... Fits in a suit pocket nicely!

Hey Akela3rd,

Thank you for this review. I got a tin of these from somewhere else and tried one a couple weeks ago.
Your review has confirmed my own findings, this cigar is a lot more than I was expecting.
I got a little of the pepper up front, creamy sweet smoke,
The middle had a Mexican chocolate flavour going on most of the time.

and some really pleasant spice toward the end.
I'm really glad I asked El Prez to look around for these.

I am really looking forward to the next few weekends with these.

Nice indeed.  At the price point for a tin of 16, seems like a nice bargain.  Will have to put these on the 2017 try list

Good stuff.  Thought about picking up some last time they made an appearance, but had too many other thinks going on.  I'll try next time!!
