creamypies Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Stems are an inherent part of tobacco leaves and a certain percentage of filler and binder stems are intentionally not removed while rolling. I'm also aware that thicker leaves have hence larger stems. But I often find with NC's that there are multiple large stems, which negatively impact taste and to a certain extent burn. Not referring to flexible soft stems/veins. I've removed burned, smelled and tasted these larger stems and yet have found that they positively contribute to my palate. Quite frankly they always smell, taste harsh and unpalatable. Such stems are commonplace in NC's including ultra premium cigars. However I've rarely if ever encountered them in CC's. Not sure if it's due to the lack of ligero in the blends or a different philosophy when it comes to incorporating large stems in the blend. What has your experience been as it relates to large stems and CC's? Sent from iPhone
