Ok so I have 27 credit cards. My wife had about 17. We are not in massive debt (well, student loans) but we own our house outright.

For Americans it can be really lucrative; I have a million frequent flyer miles I didn't fly for. Get the card, get the generous sign up bonus, then put it in my sock draw. The funny thing is my credit score has gone up because of all the available credit.

I won't get into the details; there are forums just for that. But here is an awesome first class trip I took on Emirates. US$200

Drank about $500 worth of Hennessy Paradis, got excellent food in flight and on the g ound, and took a shower on board before we landed. Oh and the Dubai first class cigar lounge!

Straight ballin' B)

I have flown coach and business class to Dubai.  Coach (middle seat, no less) is definitely NOT the way to go...I still have flashbacks, yikes

Welcome, and props for what is surely the first stratospheric shower selfie on FOH :lol3:

Ballin' on a budget. I didn't want the flight to end, but I drank about 500ml of brandy so I was sweating booze through my JFK connection in coach.

I've always wondered how people did this! I fly between the US and EU usually twice a year in business class on BA. I pay with my Amex gold with rewards an have been happy I get that much! I also do EU to India every year as well, also business. I always see these tips for cards on various travel sites. So you basically apply for and get the card, get the miles you get for signing up, then never use it? Or is there a minimum you need to charge to get the miles bonus after getting the card? And it helps your credit?!? I need me some of this!

LOL! :D  Well done!  However, what's with the T-shirt??   Consider yourself bitch-slapped for not holding up standards in First Class :P   Looks like a fun trip regardless.

I'm still ambivalent about credit card miles.  I fly about 350,000/year, and my wife charges about 500,000 miles (equivalent) per year.  In my rough estimation, if we were to trade the mileage card in for a "cash back" card we'd be about even (i.e. the money we'd save would equal the mileage tickets we would earn).  So one could buy tickets with the savings and along the way have the flexibility of cash in one's pocket.

Love that cigar lounge pic!  That's the life! :cigar:
