As usual, I'm up to no good.. Looking at my next box purchase and I have three in mind that I want to add to my humidor. Out of the following three, which is a superior and a better bang for your buck. Thank you.

- BOLIVAR Coronas Gigantes box of 25

- 898 Partagas Varnished Cabinet Selección of 25’

- PARTAGAS Lusitanias Box of 25

8-9-8

Lusis are too much of a commitment. Get a 10 ct box of those down the road!

If I might offer my humble opinion. Anything on 24:24 in the vitolas you gravitate to is your next box. A couple 24:24's back El Prez said he'd rather have the Hoyo Du Prince than Cohiba Siglo II right now. Frankly it's nearly impossible to be too loyal to a Marca or Vitola as its (often) a crap-shoot as to what factory gets the very best tobacco.

Of your 3 tho - I'm all-in on 898v (if you can get it)

Cheers!

Out of those three, the current batch of Bolivar Corona Gigantes represents best 'bang for your buck'.

Second this, and right now on my own must-stock-up-urgently list. As much as the (current/recent) 898 is overvalued, the BCG is underrated (yes, yes, just a very personal opinion...;))

In this order

1 BCG

2 Lusitania

3 8-9-8 (if you find any)

I did smoke all 3 in the last week (Lusi tonight) They were all 14/15 production. Havent seen 898 quite a while, thank god I have 2 boxes left. They are all great smokes but I prefer the Boli profile the most lately.

8-9-8 is the only answer in my book. Some of my favorite sticks of all time.

8-9-8's and Lusi's are great boxes, but they need time down imho.

BCG is the box I would pick if I wanted to smoke a cigar with minimal time down.

I would go for the 8-9-8 varnished out of that list, simply because lonsdales are disappearing. Who knows how much longer you will be able to get them.

It would be a difficult choice between the 898 and the Lusi for me - I love them both. I'd probably go for the 898 because I rarely find the time to smoke a double corona. The BCG ranks slightly lower than those two for me (providing that you get good boxes of the 898s or Lusis), but it's still an excellent cigar and apparently recent production has been especially good. To be honest, I don't think that you can go wrong with any of them as long as you get a good box.

I picked up a box of the Lusi from tonight's pick... It was a great chance to try them out.  Going to find someone to trade some BCG with before pulling the trigger on a box.

Hahaha.. It's a cc buddy, it's never a wrong a decision :ok:

I'll probably end up buying both the 898 and the BCG within a month..  Currently on the search for 898 since it's harder to find than a BCG.

Just kidding, you know. And said by someone wanting to stock up on BCGs while still holding a good stash of SLBs and dress boxes of different years, so have to confess I am guilty of being heavily biased.... :D

Enjoy those Lusis, and - as you say - trade for some Boli singles first - ....or not, because you'll surely end up buying a whole box anyway!!

Cheers
