Outside the US, when there are disasters around the world, Cuba is known for sending top flight medical teams. They also send medical teams all over the world to supplement local doctors. Forbes did an article on it last year I believe.

The Castros train and rent out so-called brigades medicos.

The money goes to the  Communist party, while the workers earn some devisas and perks re car- or houseownership  

The quality is good relative to the countries they are rented out to. It is not top-flight when compared to 1st World companies.
