HoyoFan Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Hey guys as some of you know I've been smoking NCs for a while, but only now am I getting into CCs. My dilemma is simple, given that most CCs come into their own 6mo-2yrs in, what do you all recommend getting that I can start smoking immediately (provided a few weeks of rest to acclimate from the journey)? 1
planetary Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 It took me a while to catch on, but I'm head over heels for recent Dip 2s. I've smoked 4 of them with ~6 months of age and as little as 2 weeks of post-shipment rest, and would heartily recommend them to a "no age needed" list. 4
LLC Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 For me lately new boxes of Monty 4's have been very good from the start. 3
Knvb78 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 For me most Partagas are really decent young monte 2's n 4's but do def improve w age but can be crackers with just a year in them. Also limited editions are usually aged a bit already although aging these can def bring some to a new level
Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 10, 2016 Popular Post Posted June 10, 2016 All cigars will evolve/smooth out even with a little bit of down time. If you are looking for a fresh/young box of cigars that will be at its best in 3 months from purchase...there are few if any. If you are looking for cigars that have a high % of being stellar at 3 months from purchase...there are many Bolivar Belicos Finos Cohiba Robusto/Siglo II/VI (if you can find them). Diplomatico 2 (current ones. Previous years have taken much longer). Upmann Connie 1 and Connie A HDM Epicure 1 HDM DC (Current ones) Montecristo 4 Montecristo Petit Edmundo Montecristo Especial/Especial 2 Partagas Lusi (current ones) Punch Punch (since 2013). R&J Exhibicion 4/Churchill/Wide Churchill (Rosado Wrappers) Ramon Allones Club Allones (you have to like some full bodied mongrel). Saint Luis Rey Serie A San Cristobal (All) Vegas Robaina Famoso/Unicos (but they have to be good examples). Trinidad (Any). Good examples only. 5

HoyoFan Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Thanks guys, some great stuff here to get me started
cigaraholic Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 The one Cuban cigar I've always enjoyed young over aged is SLR Regios. They're the Zinfandel of Cuban cigars. But what's really important is quality not age. Cuban cigars are delicious young if the quality is high, unfortunately today quality runs from hero to zero. Rob has listed 17 cigars that he says are smoking well "young" right now, ask him in 6 months and I think that list would change a bit. We're lucky to have someone that separates the heroes from the zeros! You might want to get your credit card limit raised ? 1
lestabantam Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I just had a trinidad reyes from march 16, SLE Mar 16 code, and it was a fine cigar, so i can get behind the trini recommendation. 2

However, I have other older Trinidad stock which I am resting too! 1 hour ago, lestabantam said: I just had a trinidad reyes from march 16, SLE Mar 16 code, and it was a fine cigar, so i can get behind the trini recommendation. I can just imagine how full of flavour it was! 1
wade1979 Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Fresh Regios are fantastic. I would say the same for Dip 2. BRC,RAS, BBF, and EPI2 all within 2015 production. 1
