I occasionally get an opportunity to smoke as much as I'd like when the boss is out of town. But I find that after smoking the first cigar (I smoke mostly full-bodied) my palate seems to be done for the day. I enjoy both CC and non CC, and find that especially once I smoke a CC, the flavor is so rich that I can't really taste much after that, even another CC. If I smoke a lighter non CC first, it really takes away from the CC. The only success I've had with multiple cigars is smoking a medium full non CC followed by a very strong non CC.

Anyway, for you folks who are serial cigar smokers, what do you do (if anything) between smokes to recharge your palate, and how long do you typically wait between smokes? Also, any specific pairings (cigars with other cigars, not cigars with drinks) that you seem to like?

Thanks

On most week days, I will smoke 1, maybe 2, cigars in the evening, and on weekends, I may smoke 3-4 cigars a day, and I've never had that problem. May be because I always drink a Cuba Libre (rum/diet coke) while smoking. I imagine that if I smoked cigars with nothing to drink, or just water, I would experience what you're experiencing. If you aren't drinking a sweeter type drink, alcoholic or not, this may be a contributing factor.

I smoke 2-3 a night. As above, strong beverages refresh my palate. I always have a soda as well as a scotch.

If my palate seems flat, a small piece of chocolate (even just a Hershey Kiss) often helps.

I don't often smoke more than one in a day. The look from the boss when I spark the second can ruin the whole cigar. On those occasions when I do smoke a few in a day I always smoke what I hope will be the best cigar first. I find a fresh palate grabs the nuance of a great cigar especially well.

There's days when I'm able to smoke up to 3 and others no more than 1 if the cigar is rich enough for me not to crave another one, since I don't drink any alcoholic beverages I can really say if that helps.

Tend to have the Cuban first then a non-cc second. Non Cubans tend to be stronger.

Brushing the ole choppers after every cigar. Keep tooth brush and paste in booth work vehicle

and personal auto. Smoke one driving to work (30 minutes), smoke one during work then

light one up driving home. Love the sun roof in my Camray great for releasing the smoke in the car.

I usually do not drink when I smoke so I may try that. Funny, though. I go wilderness camping and hiking with a few friends each year, and each night in camp we will go through 3 and sometimes 4 cigars each, with copious amount of lubrication. And come to think of it, the cigars smoke just fine. Never thought of it. Thanks for the advice.
