Popular Post dflan82
I picked up a box of the Sancho Panza Belicosos with the same box code a while ago on a 24:24 and recently had it shipped out. They arrived last week and I lit one up that afternoon and have subsequently smoked two more. (I almost always let the cigars acclimatize for around 30 - 60 days, but couldn't keep my hands off these buggers). I was actually going to write up a review on these for the Rocking My Jock contest, but my wife's Grandmother got out of the hospital so we spend the weekend with her and some family. Now, I don't know if I have ever picked up a piece of driftwood and licked it but I can't imagine it being that enjoyable. (Of course the next piece of driftwood I come across, I will be forced to give it a quick taste ) The cigars on the other hand have been terrific. All three from this box have smoked beautifully with intermingling flavors of cream, golden toasted marshmallow, light wood and a dash of salt here and there (though not nearly as much as the Molinos). I also experienced some pleasant floral notes every so often but they were gone as quickly as they came. These SP Beli's and the SP Molinos transport me back to the days of fishing in a row boat with my dad when I was a kid. He wasn't smoking Cuban's, but there is something so simple and specific about the aroma of these Sancho Panza cigars that brings back fond memories. Kinda funny how certain smells and sounds can do that. Anyway, I'd give the ones I've sampled from this box 92-93 points and I look forward to lighting up another one. Ken Gargett
Guinness was a good call too i think he'd got pissed on guinness the previous evening and everything was tasting a bit guinness-y. and perhaps he'd tripped over some driftwood.

Ken Gargett
"But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. ....Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood" sung by the animals - how appropriate. actually saw them in a converted porn theatre at lutwyche several decades ago. great band but the crowd. couples bonking against the wall, blokes throwing up. people in unconscious heaps. did not stop eric burden for a second. planetary
I consulted my FOH review notes and found that this cigar was the second recorded instance of driftwood being called out. The first was for the '07 Des Dieux, noted by Rob at 3:44:
Drguano
I believe the original lyrics were: "But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. ....Oh Lord, please don't make me lick the driftwood"

dowjr1
As they mention, there is something unique in the profile. I have some 2012s that are quite tasty. For sure I'd buy more.
ElReyDel757
I just had my first Sancho Panza Belicoso, from the New to Habanos sampler...I am hooked, I must have a box. I didn't get the driftwood taste ?, but it was so smooth, salty, savory and tasty. Pres, please put up some HQ or higher on 24:24 !
PapaDisco
Didn't any of you wags ever build a driftwood fort on the beach when you were kids?! Remember the scent of the place when you were inside? That's "driftwood!" One of the interesting aspects of this cigar (at least to me) is the sweetness that you get if you draw very gently and slowly. Pull on it normally and it disappears. awkwardPause
I've been curious about these for a while - very interesting. There's just something so cool and rustic about the way this cigar looks, too. So, that salty component (driftwood, of course) is something I really like in a cigar as well so very interested in getting my hands on some. Any advice on more recent vintages (since the LTB 2013s) which are smoking well?
