Popular Post Akela3rd Posted April 17, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 17, 2016 Never done a cigar review before, but it'll be interesting to be made to analyse the cigar in my hand. I've already flagged up this little cigar as my current favourite on other threads this last month, so the choice of it for a review was a no brainer. As to the "rocking of jocks", well when I'm not at work its usually mbt cycling shorts for me. Whatever the packet jacket, consider them rocked. It's my first smoke for a whole week and I'm really looking forward to it - I'm halfway through the box and haven't been dissapointed yet. The sun is out and I've got the garden to myself with a vanilla espresso to go alongside. And we're off... When I opened the box earlier I was hit by the now familiar smell of really sweet tobacco, fruity woodiness and cedar from the box itself. Punched it and the cold draw gives me more of the same, but wrapped in leather and not for the first time I'm tempted to bite it rather than light it. OK, I've got over that and I've lit it and I'm glad I did. The dark, firm wrapper hinted 75% cocoa solids dark chocolate and it's here. Coffee too? Similar tastes surely, compounded by the espresso I'm sipping. Smooth and creamy, very slight bitterness which I'm guessing is the "citrus" taste that gets mentioned so often in cigars. Burn is even and construction is neat and consistent along the short body of the cigar. I don't think you can truly analyse this in thirds but 10 minutes in things change a little with a more fresh taste & toastyness coming up. Another 10 minutes and now I'm getting more dark chocolate, hay (?) & somehow I'm thinking of the lemon sherbet sweets I haven't had for years. The draw is good and the cigar remains delicious. It's quite a still day here and the smoke lingers a while giving off a sweet floral vibe, which goes well with the bees buzzing around nearby. Remove the band at 25 mins as I want to smoke past it though it's getting a little hot at this end, but not unpleasantly - it's familiar, expected and quite alright thankyou. Peppery, spice heat towards the end, but still smooth like the heavily seasoned butter you'd put on a baked potato. The last section always seems to last longer, the burn slows as the cigar's flavour intensifies. I finally let it go, happy that another Monte 5 has proved itself. 37 minutes well spent IMHO. Now to get on with the rest of Sunday, properly chilled out and indeed, rocked. Will I ever have a bad one? Hope not. 10

Thanks for the props 'Boss.# Gotta love the bees, we need the little buggers - they're dying off over here and no-one is sure why. # Dunno where the potato thing came from but glad you got it!

You should do more. Wow am I a dumbass, I quoted myself instead of editing it to say Monte 5! And it's appears I can't delete only edit. Awesome! Mods feel free to remove my stupidity. It is still a nice review though!
JohnS Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 These indeed have been smoking wonderfully out of the box. I love them too! Well done, great review!
jcorona Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Even though taste is subjective, I still look at what others are tasting in a cigar, as it gives me an idea of the flavor profile. Very nicely done, thanks.
