Popular Post Drguano Posted March 11, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2016 It was about 8°C when I left work so I put the top down on the Roadster and lit up a BRC for the 45 minute commute down the freeway. I was concerned about wind dispersed ash and muted flavors but was very pleasantly surprised to hold the ash until past the halfway point. The taste was superb, perhaps even richer than one from the same box that I smoked on the porch. The commute was a lot more enjoyable. I found myself driving less aggressively and grooving on the sheer Bolivarity of the afternoon. This may become a regular part of my day. 7

LLC Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I've thought about having a cigar with the top down because it would stop the car from smelling like I smoke in it but the thought of something going wrong and burning a hole in the leather has stopped me from doing it.
Akela3rd Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I haven't got a convertible because I live in the UK and it's 90% pointless. However, I've recently had a smoke on the drive home from work a couple of times (1hr on good day to do 16 miles, joy) and yes, it proper chills out the journey. Technically illegal in the UK though. I've experienced the
luv2fly Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 There was always something to having a cigar with the top down. Made the trip more enjoyable and calming in traffic. Wish I still had my convertible.

Do you have leather or cloth interior? I'm thinking of getting a convertible and would love to be able to do this.

The upholstery is sommthing MINI calls 'Space Cloth and I haven't noticed any lingering aroma but if I did, I'd just smoke another cigar to mask the smell! 1
Blazer Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I get so much air in the cockpit of my convertible I can barely keep my toupee on lest smoke a cigar without getting ash everywhere!

Not sure if it an option for you but I put a removeable windscreen in and it make a huge difference. Calm and quite at speeds well above anything legal
El Presidente Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Love it Makes the commute feel half as long and I never get tired which is a problem when doing long distances here.
