Randolph Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 My golly. I was going to post a question about recommending a lighter cigar than the more substantial bodied cigars that I enjoy. I was doing a little Googling and came across some old ads for the Hamlet "the mild cigar". For those who know of Hamlet they are a joy to watch..... even if some of the ads are before my time!Anyway...Hamlet are not my bag so I opened the humidor and hooked out a Cohiba Siglo II. What a pleasure, very easy going, bundles of flavour, but light on the palate. A joy to smoke when the mood is right. Been a while since I had a Siglo II but this reminds me to restock. 2
JoeyGunz Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 My Uncle made a few of these, Garry Horner, absolutely top bloke and now an Aussie residing in Sydney for the last 20 odd years, runs Matterhorn ad agency. Smoked an absolutely blinding Siglo II from Pres the other day out of a fiver he sent over. 2
wabashcr Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Brilliant. Favorite is "The Wall" at about 6:32 in the video. Can't believe the last one was allowed on TV. Those were fun, thanks for sharing.

Smoker Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Thanks for posting this!! I enjoyed watching those again - although I'm pleased to say that I'm not old enough to remember all of them lol. Photobooth is still my favourite. That last one surely never made it onto TV? By a strange coincidence, I happened to smoke a Siglo II after breakfast today. I think it's the first one I've ever had - definitely one to revisit.
JohnS Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 If you can rest these milder cigars awhile, at least 3 to 5 years, the 'cream' can start to come through. Yes, the Cohiba Siglo II is a perfect example of this, as is the H.Upmann Petit Corona or even the under-the-radar Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo du Prince. 2
