Casa Particular Help...please

I'm trying to help a friend out in Australia in trying to secure accommodation in Havana from March 21 to 26. AirBnB seems to not work for us (I'm in Canada) and all the hotels are booked out (Spring Break and Obama and the Stones are in town!) Does anyone here have any good Casa recommendations and the way to go about booking it/them ? Thank you in advance for any assistance you are able to offer .

Thanks ! Have done some googling of various Casas and made request but unfortunately there have been no responses. Her trip is all on very short notice which doesn't really help things.

Be careful booking casa particulares. Lots of people got bumped this year. Even with confirmations. I was bumped from my usual place, got another place with confirmation then got bumped from that on the night I arrived.

I found a place around the corner. Not the most upscale but the guy is not on any websites and doesn't even have an email address. Turned out to be perfect. It's the only way I'll go in future as I don't trust the websites anymore.

That's my personal opinion. The website prez listed, specifically the guy who owns that Casa, seems good.

For me it was no big deal. I'm lucky now to know enough people in Havana that I wasn't going to be sleeping on the malecon on top of my suitcase.

If it was my first trip I'd be somewhat upset.

I look at the silver lining, what I got out of it was a place that has no advertising or even email address, so I'm far less likely to be bumped next time.
