Hunter1974
95% of the time I smoke Cubans and Pair it with Scotch, Whiskey or Rum . But I still have quite a few NC laying around . My Girl Friend and I were drinking spicy bloody Mary's the other day and I wanted a smoke , but I could not bring myself to light up one of my Cubans with such a bold drink . Then I had the Idea Hey! I always get a lot of spicy strong pepper from a lot of NC . So I picked out a Aging room cigar and Fellas That was the ticket ! Anyone else on here ever had this idea? For me the NC I have left will be my Bloody Mary cigars .

LGC
Bloody Mary's make a waste of good cigars... like tannic wines, IPAs, etc. I do like them on their own though. Good ones make a complete meal.
Easttide
Sounds good to me, I'll give it a shot. Someone on here mentioned how much they like Dr Pepper and cigars. I seldomly drink soda and usually it's mixed with rum but now I keep a few in the beer cooler and really enjoy it.

PigFish
Like Brandon, I prefer not to over-power a cigar with food and drink. On the other hand, while acquiring that taste I mixed a lot of them to see the results. I am not really a drinker. I drink a non-alchoholic beer (Becks) when I say 'beer.' Nor do I drink soft drinks, not habitually anyway. The exception is an occasional high quality root beer. Along the lines of the thread and the OP, I have had a drink called a Bay of Pigs while smoking. Actually it was not really my thing, but if you wanted your palate cleared for the next cigar, it did the trick. If you are not familiar with it, the drink consists of: Beer Clamato Tapatio Hot Sauce (lemon) and some spices. If you say, that sounds thoroughly disgusting... I won't argue with you!!! -LOL -Piggy
Orion21
The worst cigar mistake I ever made was eating some spicy food, then lighting up a BHK 52. I tasted ZERO from the cigar and was so disappointed in myself. I would argue that there are no Cuban cigars I would put up against a spicy bloody Mary. I still have about 50 NC cigars left from my days years ago wasted on them and I think it's a great idea to sacrifice them when drinking or eating anything spicy.

Agreed never a Cuban but the really strong NC pair well !
shortsqueeze
A Bloody Mary and an earthy and spicy Partagas are bloody perfect together! At least to me ...

MrGTO
If you can find it try Gotta Get Up To Get Down coffee milk stout. It just works with a cigar. When it comes to drinking bloody marys, I am usually in a state that smoking a cigar would make me puke!
mikemerry
forget bloody Mary's go Caesars with clamato instead. much smother and the pepper on the rimmer kicks up the cigar.
Rye
Another vote for a Caesar but use Motts "the works" Clamato juice. Great for a hangover and the right cigar works well with it.
Hunter1974
I drink my BMs virgin, and find that a tart one pairs much better than one that's heavy handed with the Tabasco/etc. I use Spicey V8 as my maximum "heat". RA, Partigas, and Bolivar (all pre '08) all hold up....IMO Thanks Hutch !
