El Presidente Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Just a heads up that FOH will be down Friday evening the 26th of February (local time). We have suffered from extensive time outs over the Crhirstmas break and again three weeks ago. In order to minimise the chances of it happening again we are moving home to a new host (larger/faster/more data to accomodate our growth/better downtime record). It is not easy moving a forum of this size and in order that we do not lose any posts, it is best to close down the Forum (hopefully not more than a few hours) while Jason oversees the migration. It will be sweet so don't worry if you can't log on for a few hours at that time 1
rckymtn22 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Noooooo, oh well with have to find something else to do!Fingers crossed it goes well. 2

JohnS Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Noooooo, oh well with have to find something else to do!Fingers crossed it goes well. Luckily, in Canada and the United States, most FoH members will be sleeping during this time! 1
Homebrew Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Luckily, in Canada and the United States, most FoH members will be sleeping during this time! Except for guys like me who are working, and haven't figured out how to access the forum from their new smartphone. LOL Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew) 2
diggityderp Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 You guys should consider hosting your DNS with Cloudflare. It's free, and if the website goes down it will serve visitors the most recent cached copy of the page they're requesting until the site is live again. Also eases up the load on your server by acting as a caching proxy and extra layer of security (bot blocking, etc)
rckymtn22 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Luckily, in Canada and the United States, most FoH members will be sleeping during this time! Depending on what time Friday night that will be Thursday morning. Damn I might have to actually work... 1

MrGTO Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Will the "Rolling Thunder" format be part of the server update?

planetary Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Problem: attempting to upload photos fails. The progress bar fills up, but the site hangs. Eventually, Chrome complains that the page is unresponsive and you need to kill the tab. (I've replicated the problem several times. I suspect the backend storage isn't configured correctly; the upload into RAM or tmp space completes, but it hangs awaiting a confirmation that the attachment is written to replicated disk -- which never comes. But that's a guess on my part.)
