Ken Gargett Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 i remember being in barcelona on a couple of occasions before they stopped the fights there. i knew which was the stall at the markets (and they are just the best markets on the planet - you'd go to that fabulous city for nothing else, even if it didn't offer so much more) where they did sell the testicles from the losing bulls. several times i really tried to get there in time to buy them - was never quite early enough. that said, no idea what i would have done with them. i had visions of fronting up to a restaurant and asking them to cook them or me but not sure how that would have worked out. and in fact, the first time i went to a bullfight there, you just might have had several sets of smaller ones. at one stage, it was bulls two, bullfighters one. and then they got a bull which refused to fight (apparently a great loss of face to the breeder). the day had everything. one thing i'd never considered, how the hell do you get a bull out of the ring if they have carted the matador off to intensive care? what they do is send in half a dozen oxen which trot around the ring. the bull quite happily falls in behind them and is led out.
