Olga Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Hello guys, I have a question about the Ramon Allones Superiores and Upmann Royal Robusto. If I am not mistaken, the Ramon was released in 2010 and the Upmann in 2011. Where they each released only once meaning only 1 box code or were they more than once? If they were release more than once, was the original better and which box code should I look for? Gracias
SofaKing Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 RA Sup original release 2010 and has had yearly releases to date. One of my favorites Upmann 2011 original release and I believe still produce but dont quote me on this one.
zathan Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I didn't look at the box codes but I have seen stacks of royal robustos in Havana two weeks ago. I believe they re-released them. Boli Libertadors have had a couple of production runs as well.
Olga Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 Oh I see, it's produced every year. That makes sense. Thanks guys!
NSXCIGAR Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Some retailers currently have 13 and 14 stock of HURR. It's been continuously produced since release, as have the RAS , HdMEE, LGC Inmensos and the Boli Libertadors. These LCDH releases seem to stick around. The only LCDH exceptions I'm aware of are the HU Noellas which reappeared in 2013 briefly but I'm not sure if there is recent production and the Boli GM which had an interruption after initial release in 2004, appeared again around 07-08 and hasn't been seen for many years now. Anyone else feel free to correct me on those details.
maverickdrinker Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 2015 H Upmann RRs and RA Superiores were available in Varadero in November....
subport Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 As for the royal robustos UPE was the original release box code I believe. Not 100% sure though. I liked my '13 better some time ago but they are still great cigars. To be honest I expect a twist and turn and hope they will be better again. No idea about the superiores, but I am smoking ULA oct 14 and its fantastic. I need more of those no doubt.

Gracias I read somewhere on the forums that it has been observed that the typical lifespan of a particular LCDH exclusive release is 4-5 years from release.
JY0 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I'd like to see the RA Superiores as a regular production cigar....definitely one of my favorites.
Lotusguy Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I'd like to see the RA Superiores as a regular production cigar....definitely one of my favorites. It pretty much is - since release I have never seen it unavailable - and that's a good thing! 2
Lant63 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 It pretty much is - since release I have never seen it unavailable - and that's a good thing! Imagine it in dress boxes of 25, or cabs of 50 like the rass though!! 3
Lotusguy Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Imagine it in dress boxes of 25, or cabs of 50 like the rass though!! I remember someone on this forum repacking them into 50 cabs a while ago 1
NSXCIGAR Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I'd venture to say the LCDH releases have been one of HSA's most successful special releases. Not too many, high quality, reasonable prices, popular vitolas and decent presentation. CCW shows production for the Superiores at 5000 boxes of 10. This can't possibly be accurate anymore...can anyone confirm this?
Fugu Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 p.a. (supposed to be - but who will really know.....)

They are true to their marca, and reasonably priced compared to other LE, RE, Reserva, Gran Reserva, Book, Jar, or Humidor. I also believe you would be hard pressed to find anyone who wouldn't want the LCDH release in 25 or 50s. I understand that some of the SCDH releases were slow sellers, but I would do almost anything for cabs of gold medals, or even a dress box. Plus I think it would be cool to have the Torreon a regular production so I could refill my jar (same with the P1 even though that wasn't an LCDH release). In general I would love to see the LCDH line expand more, and instead of discontinuing the old ones, just take off the second band and add them to the regular line up even with low production numbers if they had to like mdo2 and fundies. 1

Also agree, the HURR and the RASups were a real bargain on first release (lower than comparable sizes of the reg lines), still after the price increase a good deal. But should better not say it loud I guess.....

Upmann Royal Robustos have continued to be available, judging by how often they've come up on 24:24 listings in 2015. Let's hope they continue to do so!

But should better not say it loud I guess..... I"m finding the the HURR isn't aging as well as the RAS. I had a couple of RR's last week and thought they were flat....not as good as when they were fresh. I hope they come around as I have a bunch. The RAS has been consistently great for me and is getting better. I'd love to have those in a 25 or 50 cab.
NSXCIGAR Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 The success of the RAS highlights the real demand for a corona gorda in the RA lineup. HSA, if you're listening--the Superiores ought to be regular production! I'd love to see 25s (50 cabs are a pipe dream) priced along Punch Punch lines but as long as they keep cranking out the LCDH version and Rob keeps putting them up, I'm happy! 1

More, like yearly 5000 boxes as John said. RR UPE was the OR and some might say it was better. (I only have those so cant compare) they are not as good as it was before IMO. Superiores - no need to look for special code. Ula are generally great code and plenty of ula sup was offered here... or any other I suppose...great cigars! 1
