CanuckSARTech Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Those that do not fully "get" the true comraderie behind a forum like this, or the brotherhood of cigars overall, or the spirit of getting together with like-minded gents, just do not "get" the magic and enjoyment that lies between the lines of the small inconveniences in a trip to Cuba. 4
JohnInCleveland Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I understand why many folks wouldn't dare to go to Cuba right now, their road system and infrastructure is crap, their hotels are limited, there are countless reasons not to go for 10 years. As someone who is accustomed to 4 and 5 star hotels and who hates the slightest inconvenience in my daily travels, the idea of just saying screw it, let's go off the grid and lose ourselves for a week and live in the moment for a short time seems great. I had more fun in Cuba a few months ago (Havana specifically) than in any of my European travels. To each their own. 1
foursite12 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hey, whatever floats your boat. When I travel, I like to bait my own hooks, so to speak. But that's just me trying to actually escape what some would call 'amenities'--things that in many cases do their job too well by overly insulating me from a significant portion of life. Your mileage may differ, however and I understand that. Nonetheless, I would love to know exactly how many Cubans leave because they don't have a car waiting for them. 1
