I've decided that I'm going to visit Cuba next year. What would be the best month to go? I definitely don't want to go during peak season buy also don't want to go when its dead. Thanks!

Where do you want to go? You looking to do all-inclusive beach resort or mainly Havana? As in dead, you mean tourists? I personally wouldn't go early Fall during Hurricane season. Partagas Festival is Thanksgiving time frame and is a good time to go. Habanos Festival is February... can consider that but also know that the cigar shops will be crowded with all the big timers and you will have a much harder time getting custom cigars and other good stuff because the big shot customers will have things on order. The Summer time will be hot and humid.

Just depends on what you want to do and what you like. I thought end of November was perfect.

I was planning to visit this upcoming year in mid to late March. I am hoping it would be good time to visit the Casas and enjoy the city. I am more focused on the city experience than lounging on the beach the whole time. Hopefully its a good time to visit then dangolf18. Avoiding the humidity and hurricanes

Thanks. Eh, all-inclusive beach resort package would be nice, but honestly wouldn't mind staying in Havana the whole time. I wonder if its possible to rent an apt in Havana for like 2 weeks.

Anything is possible. Why not do 3-4 days on the beach and 5-6 days Havana? Unless you need to see every tidbit of everything, a week in Havana should be plenty of time to enjoy.

Suggestions to not go during hurricane season should be heeded. To be on the safe side, I wouldn't go anytime between mid July and late October, and especially not during August and September. Peak hurricane season.

I normally go early April-mid May or mid November-mid December.

Avoid mid may through late October (hurricane season)

Late December through early March can be quite cool at night (low teens)

Habanos festival is always late February and Partagas Amigos festival is 3rd week November.

I normally go November but I did go in September this year and was concerned about the chance of hurricanes when I booked it but it turned out being awesome weather. Still risky so to be safe your better to book the non hurricane season as people are suggesting.

Hurricane season don't go. High temps and humidity, Cant find a cold beer. If they shut off the power (which is quite often in hurricane season) you might be in your room with a candle and 1000 mosquitos. Been there done that. Then you might get some dengue. If the government discovers you have it they quarantine you until you have sweated it out. Then you missed your flight back. Places like El Nacional hotel don't have power plants, just candles. The past month it has rained almost every day, The crops ruined because of a fungus and they are having to replant. If you want to see the crops in Pinar give it a couple of months as the best months are February-March. Clear skies, low humidity, cool temps. If you check the Miami weather tendencies, Havana is usually about 5 degrees warmer but usually with a breeze. The parallel market is trading USD 1: .97 for the Chavitos (CUC), sometimes you can get 1:1. Plenty of houses you can rent in Havana $30-$35 night, probably less if you stay 2 weeks. Enjoy your trip. I like going June or September. Resort prices are good, about 1/2 the price. The resorts are half empty. The weather is good, hot but doesn't rain too much. The excursions are also at reduced prices. I went at the end of July this year, will never go again. The heat was unbearable. I heard August is even worst. The prices go up in July as well.
