El Presidente Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Was asked this morning by e-mail to put up to what I refer to as a Cigar Flavour Wheel. This is not my invention and I have seen it around (in various forms) for 20 + years. Always good to keep it handy when that one flavour escapes you........that one....you can taste it but not quite define it. 4
Smallclub Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 This is not my invention and I have seen it around (in various forms) for 20 + years. This particular one was put online in the early 2000's by a friend of mine who ran an online cigar shop based in Switzerland. IMHO it's still the best one. 1

PapaDisco Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Cool! However I don't see 'impetuous,' 'beguiling,' 'garrulous,' or even 'meretricious' listed, are you sure it's a complete wheel?
ayepatz Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I used this as the basis for the Classic Flavours Polls. Had to tweak it it a bit to fit as many options as I could into the survey, as the number of questions was limited. 1
JohnS Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 It's excellent. Just need to update it to add some contemporary favourites such as "stonefruit", "apricot", "honey" and "toasted tobacco" et al. 1
planetary Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 To add onto what John was saying... 1) The inclusion of vanilla, tannin, liqueur, and vinegar in the "Fruity" section is a bit odd to me. Might consider expanding that section to something a bit more detailed, as we see in the University of California, Davis wine flavor wheel.2) I'd consider pulling "sweet" into its own category, as distinct from "Spicy". The FoH reviewers have mentioned, for example: general sweetness, butterscotch, honey (light and dark), sugar cane, caramel, molasses, nougat, and others. 3) I don't see roast lamb or peanut butter anywhere on the wheel. Strange. 1
Ribeye Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I have tasted Horseradish and Sesame, though not in the same cigar.

Boosted Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Here's the one we use at Cigar Sense Thanks for that one, Mike! I keep it with me. 1
ThatAlfonso Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for posting these. I remember seeing one a couple years ago and was just thinking I needed to find it again...
GavLew79 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 It's certainly not a complete wheel Pres, "driftwood" is missing! ?
