Ken Gargett Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 had no idea about this but recently saw a report where a real life "celebrity" was apparently seriously considered for the role of 007 at the beginning. i reckon i could have guessed for a week and still not got it right. apparently the producers seriously considered casting lord lucan as bond. i guess they would have had to move to roger moore a few years earlier than planned. 1

Wow - Who would have thought LORD LUCAN
Ken Gargett Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Wow - Who would have thought LORD LUCAN nice photo effort!
PapaDisco Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Wow, that's a weird story (the real life part). Somewhere in the middle of the Wikipedia entry it says that he declined the offer to screen test for Bond, but had done a screen test for another movie prior and hadn't gotten the part.
JohnS Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I just read his life story from that link Mika posted. Incredible! What a character!
Fuzz AI Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I'd read about Lord Lucan, but knew nothing about the Bond link, just the murder mystery and disappearance.
ayepatz Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 "He developed a taste for gambling and, skilled at backgammon and bridge, became an early member of the Clermont Club. Although his losses often exceeded his winnings, he left his job at a London-based merchant bank and became a professional gambler." Maybe not quite so skilled as he thought? I love wikipedia.
